They might engrave the back then paint it then engrave the front and paint fill it with a different colour like white or whatever for the letters or writing. You might find the other good looking pictures you talk about could be paint filled as well as engraved. No flash, against the microwave reflective window Here are the engravings, i thought it was to low and was playing with the power so i kinda ruined this image about 3/4 of the image you can see the color difference a little bit. Testing on jeans/denim what ever its called, problem there it has to be dark to see a good image, more dye otherwise its barely visible.Īnd if you put the laser on a little but to high power the fabric is so weak and damages easy.Īnd here is the last thing i tested on acrylic This picture you can see it better that some parts of the letters are smaller and lighter ( click for the big image)Īnother phone, it does have more trouble with silver paintings
No idea how this is possible have this a few times now and its ugly.
Then there is this, above the letter R and the rest you can see a little but 2 colors gray (sort stripe) Leather case for my tablet only thing was it was a bit to much power on the arm side.Īlso noticed that when it went out of focus because it has some folds in it the image began to fade ofcourse.
If you look at the engravings from this company Lasergraveren - Adelfi those are simply amazing and some KERN movies i have found on youtube.īeen also thinking of buying a 1" focus lens using a 2" right now maybe it gives a little bit more details. One mirror i used for testing was ok but only visible when you kept it on a certain angle like i have described before, then i put it a bit stronger the laser and it burned the silver away ( i use a 40w laser btw)Īfter this i used a black spraycan and sprayed it but it was still not as nice as i was hoping for. I do not have a thicknes meter to measure the layer thickness but it would be a good tool i gues to use ( used it when i was a painter but the one that works also on non metal materials) Now you would think because its mass production that the paint layer on the back of the mirror would be almost the same thickness. But we always recommend testing out your machine on sample or scrap material before going into the final product.I went to the IKEA and i bought 15 mirrors , On our 100 watts AP Lazer SN4836 we used a speed setting of 50 and a power setting of 25.
Just make sure that layer is not selected to engrave or cut when you download the file. We used Lasercut to create a box the size of the canvas in order to assure the art was centered on the canvas. We used a vector file, but there is no reason you couldn’t use PhotoGraV to create a grayscale image to use. We have purchased some artwork off of and added a quote to the bottom. Pull together some cool artwork, either by creating it yourself or purchasing it. As we are engraving the paint off of the canvas, the “engraved” area will be white (the color of the canvas) so darker paint colors will give you higher contrast. We have hypothesized that the reason spray paint works so well (and lasers white) is because it lays on top of the canvas instead of soaking into the fibers. So far we have only tried this with one solid color of spray paint, but as time progresses and allows we intend to try other paints and effects.
So here we are going to tell you all about how to engrave the paint right off of the canvas. But our last project was just so neat, and so incredibly easy we just had to share.
